The GMB Reachout Project works in partnership with St. Antony's Centre and has been successful in securing a new contract to promote adult learning across the North West in partnership with the GMB North West Region. As a result the Centre now requires two members of staff to start in post with immediate effect:

 2 Union Learning Fund Project Workers (f/t 37.5hrs/wk)

The successful applicants will work on the GMB Trade Union Reach Out project funded by the Union Learning Fund. The postholders will be responsible for supporting Union Learning Representatives and developing the lifelong learning agenda among the GMB, workplaces and community groups across the North West.  They will work to agreed targets to encourage and support people to access courses of learning by developing partnerships with employers and training providers.

Applicants will be expected to have a good understanding of adult education, particularly in the areas of Functional Skills, ITQ, Apprenticeships and Informal Adult Learning. Ideally, candidates will have experience of delivering outreach projects and/or familiarity with trade union structures.

Both posts are essential car user positions and candidates must have access to their own vehicles. A business mileage allowance is payable for travel costs incurred in the performance of work duties.

Post 1 is cover for maternity and will last for the duration of the maternity leave (no later than 31st March 2018).

Post 2 will run to 31st March 2018.

Salary: from 21k subject to qualifications and experience
