Remploy Workers Top Of The Class

Fri 14th May 2010

GMB members and Workers from Remploy at Heywood were today celebrating after they were presented with their Awards in Numeracy, Literacy and IT.

Tutors Tom Fredrickson and Melissa Griffiths from St Antony's Centre were on hand to present the certificates at Remploy e-cycle in Heywood.

The presentation of certificates marks the success of a long standing working relationship between the GMB ReachOut project, Remploy and St Antony's. Students were presented with certificates in Adult Literacy, Adult Numeracy, Start IT and ITQ Level 1. For some students, these were the first formal qualifications achieved in these Key Skill subject areas.

Melissa Griffiths, the Literacy and Numeracy tutor for the program said:

"Events like this are rewarding for all concerned. The students feel their achievement is fully recognised and celebrated and as a tutor I feel proud of each of them and the hard work they have put in."
