Thanks Beryl

Thanks Beryl

Mon 21st Mar 2011

With the restructure of departments at Tameside Council, GMB Reach Out has lost one of its most successful and committed full time ULR's, Beryl Mulroy. With her caring, her passion and her communication skills Beryl was able to get many colleagues onto and through courses of learning and also bring vacant training rooms back into use.

With the support of GMB Reach Out and other ULRs, Beryl has established a fully equipped IT training room at Tame Street, where Literacy, Numeracy and IT courses are delivered. A steering group made up of GMB and Unison ULRs are in the process of taking over the reins to maintain the very high standards that Beryl set. Although no longer an employee of Tameside, Beryl has offered to continue to support the ULRs, GMB Reach Out and the authority in a voluntary capacity. This shows the passion she has for helping people to achieve their full potential.

We take this opportunity to thank Beryl for all her tireless work in establishing the Learning Agenda in Tameside, during some difficult years for the authority. I'm sure you will all join the GMB Reach Out team in thanking Beryl for her fantastic commitment and work for this project which is so clearly close to her heart.
